The first output of motorcycle was developed by Willam Harley and Arthur Davidson last 1903 which resulted to Harley-Davidson. The motorbike that was made in a small shed wooden was a racing bike with Harley-Davidson Motor company written on the front door. They generated 3 motorcycles after one year for the public. The first race on 1905 was won by Harley-Davidson and then they hired their first employee. The first motorcylce was sold to the Detroit Police Department in 1908 and it was used as a police service. H-D built 6 story factory in 1912 then started to export their first bikes to Japan.
1914 marks the year H-D formally enters itself into the national racing circuit, and is instantly known as “The Wrecking Crew” for it’s dominance in the racing industry. Harley-Davidson then started to sell their motorcycles within the Military in 1917.
By 1918 half of all bikes developed were transported off to military for service in World War 1, and Corporal Roy Holtz is definitely the first soldier to ride a Harley-Davidson Motorcycle in Germany. The motocycle company became more successful in 1920 with 2,000 dealers in 67 countries in the whole world.
1931 is the year that almost all of Harley’s competitors are gone, with the exception of the Indian Motorcycle Company. The Indian and Harley-Davidson motorcycle company were the only two remaining motorcycle companies.
Because the world goes in into World War 2, so does Harley get back into Military motorcycle creation, and the service school is turned back up in the military motorcycle service school, also referred to as the Quartermaster School for military mechanics. This was the time when the public had a hard time to get hold of the Harley-Davidson motorcycle.
